The Montavilla Food Co-op (MFC) is excited to introduce Colby Clipston as our new Project Manager and newest member-owner! Colby will focus on volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement; events coordination; as well as provide support to our ongoing effort to recruit more member-owners. Our co-op has made significant progress in recent years and we are well on our way toward 600 members!   The Montavilla Food Co-op is hosting it’s fourth Craft Sale fundraiser on November 26th from 10-4 at Wix Insurance at 81st and Stark! The sale features locally crafted pottery and glassware, soap, jewelry, candles, cards and more. Every dollar raised benefits the effort to establish a community owned grocery store in Montavilla. Whether you are celebrating a victory or mourning a loss, many of us are shocked at the deep divisions in our country highlighted by the election results and aftermath. Montavilla is Ready for a Food Co-op!

Montavilla Food Co-op recently completed a market feasibility study. We are very pleased to report that Dakota Worldwide’s study confirmed that “the Montavilla trade area is a good area in which to locate a natural foods cooperative.” This allows us to move ahead in confirming financial feasibility through the development of pro-forma financial statements, which we will be working on this summer through a contract with national expert Bill Gessner at Cooperative Development Services (CDS).
