Local Food Documentary Screening – Ingredients

The Montavilla Food Co-op is hosting a screening of the documentary film Ingredients about the local food movement. Be sure to save Saturday, August 10th at 2pm on your calendar and come on down to the Academy Theater. Our early sponsors include Seastar Community Acupuncture, Montavilla Food Buying Club and People’s Food Co-op. If you are interested in sponsoring the screening please email us at {This email is obscured. Your must have javascript enabled to see it}.

Ingredients is a film about getting back to sourcing your food from your local community. The film features many Oregon farmers & chefs, people who are deeply involved in the local food movement. “American food is in a state of crisis, but a movement to put good food back on the table is emerging. What began 30 years ago with chefs demanding better flavor, has inspired consumers to seek relationships with nearby farmers. This is local food.”

Following the 67 minute film, there will be a community discussion with speakers from various aspects of the local food movement. Soon, we will be selling advance tickets to the screening for $10 per person. This is a fundraiser for the continued development efforts of the co-op. Be sure to buy your tickets early because seating is limited.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
