Help Pick MFC’s Board; Serve on the Nomination Committee

July 30, 2014

Dear MFC Owners:

Greetings and happy summer!

In accordance with our bylaws, the board is establishing a Nomination Committee to collect and screen nominations for members of the board. The committee will consist of three to five owners (including one director). The committee will be responsible for setting up nomination papers and procedures, making nomination papers available to all owners, and nominating qualified candidates for the board during annual elections and vacancies.

Any member of the co-operative who is interested in serving on the Nomination Committee should email me at no later than Friday, August 15, 2015. Include your name, contact information, and a brief statement indicating that you are a member, describing your qualifications, and describing your interest in helping to recruit future boards.

Please consider helping with this important task. As we continue to build Montavilla Food Co-op, one of our most important ongoing tasks as owners is to carefully elect directors qualified to grow our investment into a living, breathing natural foods grocery store serving East Portland.  I hope to hear from you soon.
