Cranberries, Dried with Honey, Hummingbird
From Hummingbird Wholesale
Raw, dehydrated, Oregon-grown Organic Cranberries with a touch of Organic Wildflower Honey made by our co-workers here at Hummingbird Wholesale.
When we began developing our raw granolas, we wanted to use as many local ingredients as possible. After a lot of searching, we finally found local Organic cranberries and decided to make our own Dried Cranberries with local raw Blackberry Honey (We've since changed to Organic Honey to make these Cranberries Certified Organic). The cranberries add color and tart sweetness to our Raw Sprouted Ariel’s ‘Om Grown Granola, but since their flavor is so outstanding, we also offer these cranberries sans granola for those who would like to use them in their own recipes.
The berry variety, which is carefully gathered when vine-ripened, is somewhat sweeter than other types of cranberries and is larger in size. We freeze the gorgeous gem-like Organic cranberries after harvest, then dehydrate them in our Certified Organic kitchen at low temperatures (below 115°F) with a touch of Hawaiian Wildflower Honey, making a delightful treat: beautiful, delicious, nutritious, local and raw.
Without the sugar and oil, the berries are lighter and consequently, one pound of these berries is around twice as many berries as the oiled and sugared berries. As one of our customers likes to say, “Half the weight and twice the cost equals the same price!"
Enjoy as a snack alone, in trail mix, added to stuffing, sprinkled on grain salads, green salads, and cooked cereal, baked into cookies or scones (see recipe). Delicious!
